Blue Marble Gear, LLC, a New York-based corporation, established in July of 2002, seeks to challenge conventional thinking by launching the first truly convertible footwear. The company strives to develop innovative solutions that don’t compromise traditional competing goals, i.e. fashion and function. We are inspired by new discovery and want to inspire our customers to do so as well. Exploring and discovering the earth is about taking the road less traveled, or—even better—creating a whole new road. We are adventurers at heart and we want to create a company that captures that spirit and allows others to brave new horizons.

Outdoor enthusiasts know that adventure travel requires crossing many different terrains. Blue Marble Gear announces the debut of the first truly convertible footwear that changes to meet that challenge. Our line is based on an idea we conceived while on a backpacking journey in South East Asia. While spending countless hours and days hiking through exotic rain forests, white sandy beaches and busy urban sprawls, we needed many kinds of footwear, but were constrained by the size of our backpacks. Our product consists of a removable bootie and a sports sandal that can be used separately or together to create a 3-in-1 shoe to suit the varying conditions of a demanding trek. Having multi purpose footwear means carrying less weight and saving more space on your journey. No Matter Wear!
